All students deserve to thrive

The number of kids and teens with mental health needs keeps climbing. Families are waiting months to access care—while their children continue to struggle in class, slide into crisis, and in some cases, lose their lives.

You’re uniquely positioned to help: Schools are trusted in the community, and kids spend most of their days in school. But no matter how hard your faculty and staff work, they rarely have the time or tools to fully meet student needs. They’re burning out. Cartwheel helps schools and families return to balance.

Excellent care at 1/3 the cost

Cartwheel braids together funding from students' health insurance with funding from the school district. As a result, we help school districts deliver excellent care at 1/3 the cost.

What insurance pays

Health insurance covers ~66% of the cost of Cartwheel. Families with Medicaid have zero out-of-pocket costs, and we are an in-network healthcare benefit for all other families. We handle all logistics related to insurance on behalf of schools and families.

What school districts pay

School districts cover the remaining ~33% of costs. This supports key parts of our program that lead to great care but aren't funded by health insurance: Ongoing collaboration with school staff, case management for students, parent education, and more.
