“You can't replicate the language capabilities of all of Cartwheel’s clinicians.”

Karri Isidoro

Psychologist

Danvers Public Schools

“Cartwheel…has allowed us to get services to students and families quickly and discreetly, and in many different languages.”

Jenna Lavery

Clinical Interventionist

Fitchburg Public Schools

My child is continuing to improve. We have seen many positive changes at home.

Family

The best part is that that they [Cartwheel] have minimal wait times. They guarantee that as long as parents are responding to the intake, that students have their first counseling session within seven days.

Kristy Moore

Director of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

Glens Falls City School District

“The real advantage of working with Cartwheel, in particular, has been access to multilingual therapists, particularly in languages that are low incident languages for us.”

Peter Derry

Berkshire Hills Regional

My daughter has learned how to deal with her emotions and identify them in a healthy, constructive way.

Family

I love working with Cartwheel therapists. You are all so knowledgeable and beneficial to our students.

School Counselor

Hudson Public Schools

[Therapist] is just absolutely wonderful with my son. She has earned his trust and he has opened up to her. She’s just done so much great work with him.

Family

[being in therapy] was like, wow, I can still learn something about myself, even though I already feel like I know so much.”

Student

“We were really looking for a partner that could help support some short term work so that we didn't get to that crisis level, and doing some kind of early intervention and proactive work with us.”

Kim Huffer

Director of Social Emotional Learning

Cambridge Public Schools

“The data points [are] really important for us to be able to see what our needs are moving forward.”

Heidi Riccio

Superintendent, Director

Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School

[Therapist] does a really good job, she shows great patience with [child]. Right now she's working with trying to motivate and support his engagement and we never saw that with local providers. You can see it with those who work with adults, but we don't have people who can work with kids like [child] where we live.

Family

As a parent, I appreciate the prompt responses from both the coordinators and providers.

Family

“We have so many students here in need of…acute services. If your school is looking for ways to support students before they rise to that level, this is something that's really worth exploring.”

Jenna Lavery

Clinical Interventionist

Fitchburg Public Schools

“In order for our students to maximize their potential and realize their talents academically, we have to care for the social, emotional and mental health needs of our young people.”

Dr. Stephen Zrike

Superintendent

Salem Public Schools

Our therapist is very compassionate and goes above and beyond to connect with our son which can at times be very challenging.

Family

“I would say, even when you don’t notice your child is struggling, you really never know what’s going on in their head, outside of home, or maybe even in home if they’re all silent, and I’d say having a therapist, even if you don’t know if they have an ‘issue’ it might help them heal from the things they don’t talk about.”

Student

“Long waitlists for care have impacted students, families, and school staff. It’s crucial to recognize that students grappling with deep sadness or anxiety shouldn’t be turned away or endure a four to six-month wait to see a therapist.”

Amy Anyanwu

Assistant Superintendent

Montgomery County Educational Service Center

“The biggest piece for us was increasing access and minimizing wait times to get mental health to our students. We were seeing very long wait times as everyone can relate to, and the use of Cartwheel has really made a significant difference in being able to provide access relatively quickly for a large portion of our students.”

Drew Rosenshine

Director of Mental Health, Behavior and SEL

Lowell District Schools

Cartwheel has bilingual, culturally responsive therapists which is vitally important, particularly for Chelsea, where 90-plus percent of the district is Latinx.

Aaron Jennings

Equity, diversity and excellence officer

Chelsea Public Schools

"The unique niche is providing short-term care and reducing the response rate. Of students referred, all started telehealth therapy within the first week of referral. In the world of mental health, that is very rapid."

Peter Light

Superintendent

Acton-Boxborough Regional High School

My daughter really connected with her therapist, and it was easy to get set up.

Family

“If you're in a position where you are really struggling to get kids seen quickly, I would think this is going to be a strong match.”

Matthew DuBois

Senior Director of Clinical Services and Social-Emotional Learning

Public Schools of Brookline

Both of my kids have had an assortment of improvements in their growth, development and emotional health since starting. Each provider has special gift with children, most are calm, easy going, caring, and help them reflect on their lives and days.

Family

“I love the fact that [Cartwheel] is short term. It's that interim piece while kids are waiting.”

Catherine Kilcoyne

Director of Student Services

Hudson Public Schools

“It just felt like we were very reactive. And I think having Cartwheel helps us get out in front of [those issues]”

Michael St. Claire

Adjustment Counselor

Springfield Central High School

“When I started, I was very introverted, still am introverted, but like very, very introverted. I didn't really want to tell my secrets or anything. But after all my sessions, I feel like I’m more open to be me, I don’t really care that much about what others think of my personality. I started learning boundaries thanks to my sessions. She told me that most people don’t think about that until they are adults so I have a head start, I guess. I ended up being fine with [telehealth]. If anything, I was more comfortable because I’m in my own room.”

Student

“Our parents were consistently telling us that mental health support in our area was difficult to navigate and took an inordinate amount of time to access. Because of the long wait time, students were not getting the help they needed.”

Kathleen Lucas

Director of Student Services

Miamisburg City Schools

[Therapist] is incredibly dedicated, energetic and insightful. She deserves a medal! We have a very challenging situation and she feels like a true partner in all of this.

Family

“Wait lists are long in the community, transportation is a barrier and insurance is a barrier. We had to get creative and bring in Cartwheel.”

Ellen Wingard

Executive Director, Student Services

Salem Public Schools

“It was not what I expected. If anything, I was more nervous because the only thing I knew about therapy was what’s on TV. I thought the therapist was going to be all serious and getting straight to the point, that was not it all. Obviously she was human, she wasn’t a robot trying to get down to business. It made me comfortable quite fast when I realized it. It didn’t take long for me to realize ‘oh, it’s not like the stereotype I thought it was going to be."

Student

This is an amazing experience - parent coaching! We're so thankful and soaking it all up. Our therapist is wonderfully positive and super supportive.

Family

“The Cartwheel team is extremely willing and open to hear those [needs] and meet you where where your needs are.”

Mia Riccio

Director of Student Supports

Salem Public Schools

“it's really nice to be able to provide families and students access to care that's responsive”

Drew Rosenshine

Director of Mental Health, Behavior and SEL

Lowell District Schools

[Therapist] is very knowledgeable and empathetic with our family. She’s a great support !

Family

“So something that's really important to me, especially through my journey in and out of therapy, is that I really find that it's important for people to know that progress is not linear. Progress is not a straight line up. Progress can be one day, you are so high, you're in the clouds, you're up, you're up and you're amazing. You're like how could I ever not love myself? And then the next day could really be like five or six feet under, and thinking I am absolutely disgusting. And that's okay. I really want people to know, and my younger self to know, that that kind of progress, that kind of up and down is completely okay. And that it is still progress as you are learning because progress is not going to happen overnight.

Student

"Because they [Cartwheel] are telehealth, they have specialists that really can meet the needs of students who may be presenting some unique topics."

Kristy Moore

Director of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

Glens Falls City School District

"Once once the word got out that this is like this great opportunity, and you don't have to wait for four months to get on a list just to maybe get to see somebody at a time that's inconvenient. That's an hour drive. It just sort of spread like wildfire."

Peter Derry

Berkshire Hills Regional

[Therapist] is a great therapist. He’s a great match for my son and has helped my husband and I with parenting strategies.

Family

“[Cartwheel’s] ability to reach out for our multilingual families has been really helpful.”

Heidi Riccio

Superintendent, Director

Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School

There's something to be said for him being at home, not in an uncomfortable office setting. I know a lot of people worry about virtual, but I think that has to be a part of it, because he can be comfortable in his own home. The other day he was able to grab his dog and put him in his lap, and I think that really made a difference.

Family

Cartwheel has been a gamechanger for our staff and students. St. Mary's is a better place because of Cartwheel.

Dr. John F. Dolan

Executive Director

St. Mary's School

“Thanks to therapy and me not being afraid to show who I am, it’s been easier to talk to people who are like me. I have my first ever group of friends that I made myself in college.”

Student

A counselor was matched that speaks Spanish and has experience with similar situations as the one we're in.

Family

We are very happy that we are able to have the same person working with our son and with us, the parents. He is incredibly supportive, responsive, thoughtful, and skilled at understanding how best to interact with our son.

Family

“We were seeing waitlists of up to six months for students to be able to be seen in the community and Cartwheel has been able to significantly reduce that wait time.”

Mia Riccio

Director of Student Supports

Salem Public Schools

“The outcomes were at least as good if not better than the in-person program”

Ellen Hallsworth

Health policy and innovation leader

Bradley Hospital

I love that my daughter has someone to talk to that she can trust and that [Therapist] is able to give her advice from outsiders point of view.

Family

My son is open to talking with his therapist and actually laughs and has a good time during his visits.
